Dr. Tan Monivann, president of the CAIF, attended the second meeting of the Board of Directors (BOD) of the Skills Development Fund (SDF) on December 13th, 2023, to join the review and evaluation of the work performance in the year of 2023, as well as to set up the direction of SDF and to approve the proposed Action Plan and Budget Plan for operation in 2024.
The meeting was presided over by His Excellency Dr. PHAN Phalla, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Chairman of the BOD, and joint by the other board member from both government and private sectors such as the representative from Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training (MLVT), Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MOEYS), Council of Ministers, Council Development of Cambodia (CDC) and CAIF.
The BOD offered high praise to the performance of SDF team over the past twelve months in 2023 which achieved remarkably in the process of supporting and providing fund to facility and promote skilled labor force to meet the demand in industry as the government’s priority. The BOD also suggested to include the support to the informal businesses, nurturing them and convert them to become formal businesses, following the RGC’s national strategy for informal economic development 2023-2028.
In the end, the board provided further recommendation and guidance on strategic direction and activities of the SDF and approved the 2024 Action Plan and Budget Plan, as well as new programs developed by the SDF Operational Team.
