CAIF was founded in 2009 by a small group of authorized distributors in Cambodia to address issues facing the automotive industry. Initially, the greatest issue facing CAIF’s members was unfair competition from parallel importers. After becoming an officially registered association in 2011, CAIF’s focus expanded to include additional issues including vehicle safety, fuel quality standard, emission standard, and road safety, to name but a few.
